Upgrades program

We are responsible for a $300 million program to upgrade and replace on-base housing so that it meets the minimum housing standard required by Defence. While modernising the properties to provide a better standard of living for ADF members and their families, the upgrade program also extends the life-span of these homes by 10 to 15 years.

Kapooka, New South Wales
All homes will receive a double lock-up garage, refurbished bathrooms, kitchen and laundry, internal repainting and new floor coverings.

Cerberus, Victoria
Works commenced in March 2013 and are being carried out as houses become vacant. This project is currently well under way with 34 houses completed.

Richmond, New South Wales
In addition to standard upgrade inclusions, the program will also include an assessment of all electrical, plumbing and communication services.

Alice Springs, Northern Territory
This project is in progress with two houses complete and a further two schedules to start in October.

Sale, Victoria
Works commenced in August this year and will be carried out as properties are vacated. There are currently four upgrades in progress with.

Katherine, Northern Territory
This project is in progress with eight houses under construction. Some tenants may be required to move as part of this process.

Seaward Village, Swanbourne, Western Australia

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) will undertake a major refurbishment program at Seaward Village in Swanbourne WA.
