DHA’s premier residential development in Darwin, Breezes Muirhead, is a finalist in the Northern Territory Natural Resource Management (NRM) awards for its Indigenous training program.
Now we need your help to get one step further and win the people’s choice vote! Visit the NRM awards website and select ‘Breezes Muirhead Aboriginal Landcare’ to help support this fantastic initiative.
The program, a collaboration with Greening Australia NT, assists at-risk Indigenous adults (including unemployed and correctional facility inmates) to secure long-term employment opportunities. It provides them with practical experience in nursery operation and land management, including undertaking landscape works onsite at Breezes Muirhead.
This is a fantastic program, with the knowledge gained filtered back to communities, providing role models, stable incomes and supporting long-term employment. We are incredibly proud of this initiative and the accomplishments of the trainees.
