An exciting new residential project in Baldivis, Western Australia, was launched on Wednesday, 7th March 2018 by award-winning developer Defence Housing Australia (DHA).
The 2.06-hectare site at 16 McDonald Rd, Baldivis, will comprise 30 land lots, including eight new homes for Defence members and their families, supporting the Navy at HMAS Stirling. The remaining 22 lots will be sold to the public in one stage - set to start later this month.
DHA Chairman, the Hon J.A.L. (Sandy) Macdonald, said the $6.2 million new development would create a vibrant residential community while making a significant contribution to the local economy.
‘New communities are a long-term investment for DHA,’ Mr Macdonald said. ‘We manage and maintain the Defence properties after they are built. We have an ongoing commitment to see the community thrive.
‘When you buy into a DHA development, you are investing in a sustainable community with Defence families as neighbours you can trust and appreciate.
‘DHA is delighted to be working with local tradespeople to bring about this exciting new project and I am pleased today to turn the first sod on this site to launch civil construction.’
The official ceremony was attended by a range of important local community members, including the City of Rockingham Mayor, Barry Sammels.
As well as looking after the housing needs of Defence members and their families, DHA is a leading Australian residential property developer, with almost 50 projects underway across the country and a development pipeline of approximately $2.5 billion.
Mr Macdonald said the Baldivis location offered tremendous opportunities for new residents.
‘This is truly a terrific location. It has easy access to bush walks and pristine beaches, stunning lakes, schools and local amenities.
‘This is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and standing here, on the site of our proposed new development, it’s easy to see why.
‘This is a residential land development that will certainly enrich and contribute to the local community, and will connect the local Bush Forever sites, marine park and lakes. Not least of all, our Baldivis site will provide a tremendous lifestyle for a select number of Australian Defence Force and civilian families.’
